After finishing my lit degree, I completely stopped reading. I had lost the ability to read for pleasure. But in early 2013 I discovered reading could be social. And in the autumn of 2013 I discovered MM romances and that reading could be downright HOT. I haven't stopped reading since!

Perfect Imperfections
My connection with Reggie was almost instantaneous. He is a 
after all. And he drinks
That says a ton right there.
Reggie is a bartender in a small town bar. His goal is to save enough money to see the world. In saunters a semi-disguised Jeremy. Rock star of the highest order. I kept thinking
Jeremy is tired of people riding on his coattails, women who only use him for their own publicity and having no control over his life. After 6 hours in the bar talking to Reggie they hatch a plan. Reggie will go on tour with Jeremy as his pretend boyfriend. The complication: Jeremy isn’t gay (or at least he doesn't know it yet). And they have to sell his coming out to the world. Also, Jeremy doesn't necessarily realize that Reggie is gay until pretty well into the story.
As far as pretend boyfriend stories go, this one was done well. As is my complaint with most GFY stories, it took too long for the romance to really bloom. But the GFY part was actually more believable here than in most books. Jeremy, having been born to famous parents with every moment of his life planned for him, he had never really had any kind of meaningful relationship. He had never felt a connection to anyone. So the fact that he had not really considered his own sexuality in any great depth was made plausible.
I love the fact that at no time in the story was there some big miscommunication leading to a big fight as a plot point. I love when an author can move a story along without doing that. Reggie was there for Jeremy throughout and his growing protectiveness over his friend and later lover was heartwarming.
If you are looking for high drama and angst, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for meaningless sex, drugs, and rock and roll, there is very little of that here. If you are looking for heartwarming and sweet, however, this is the one.
Also kudos to the author for getting the little bit of Arizona included in the book geographically correct. It is so annoying when parts of a book take place in an area you know and it is all wrong.
