After finishing my lit degree, I completely stopped reading.  I had lost the ability to read for pleasure.  But in early 2013 I discovered reading could be social.  And in the autumn of 2013 I discovered MM romances and that reading could be downright HOT.  I haven't stopped reading since!

I live on Goodreads but I promise to figure out Booklikes eventually.

Public Display of Everything

Public Display of Everything - Cara Dee Cory is down on his luck and needs a job. Again. Flynn has a successful internet business that serves voyeurs and exhibitionists alike. But he is awkward and shy. He needs a "body double" of sorts for his persona as the proprietor of his web business.

But an usual business proposition quickly develops into friendship, lust, and love. Did I say quickly? Yeah, really quickly. We are talking insta-love/lust. And although I don't generally have a problem with insta-love/lust I didn't fully buy it here. But that is my few complaints about this book.

But the relationship did really work. More than anything, Cory wants a relationship where he can be out and openly affectionate. Flynn, never really having had a relationship, is willing to overcome his fears and give Cory what he needed. I LOVED that.

I also loved the honesty between the two MCs. They both clearly had demons from the past. Neither pushed the other to talk about things they weren't ready to discuss but they were their for each other 100% and when they did talk about their pasts, they did not hold back. And I LOVED the fact that there was no big misunderstanding to move the plot along. The two MCs were a team conquering obstacles together.

I am not exactly sure if I liked the way the whole thing with Luke was handled. It wasn't clear who he was or what he meant to Cory. We just know that he hurt Cory badly. I liked, no loved, the way the Luke strand of this story came together at the end, but the little teasers at the beginning of each chapter started to frustrate me pretty early on.

Clearly their could have been more sex in this story. A lot of it was off page. The first time the couple has sex Flynn is totally awkward and I loved the way Cory handled him. The next time there is on page sex Flynn is almost a completely different person. I would like to have seen the development and progression of his sexual confidence in, uh, um, greater detail.
